Beauty at the Ballpark

Giants and Padres:

Tyler Lindsey cracked a sinking line drive to left.

Jarrett Parker dove into the grass, hat jostling, and misplayed the ball.

Angels and A’s:

Tyler Landendorf knocked a ball to right center, sliding safely into third after a fan reached over the wall and interfered with the play.

Mike Scioscia shook his head.

Dodgers and Indians:

Buck Britton took a pitch before singling into left.

He wore 81. The pitcher, Michael Roth, wore 65.

At one point, I nearly burst into tears.

But I can’t remember what did it, exactly:

And so I checked the highlights of all three games, looking for what moved me.

Ten years ago, I saw a Monet in Boston and started to cry.

Every time I visit an art museum, I look for that painting.
