St. Louis faltered just before the All-Star break.
By that I mean they lost three of four to Pittsburgh, including one in the tenth and one in the 14th.
The Cards lost leads in both games.
I suppose we’ll wonder in September.
Maybe those games will make the season slide into hell.
But we won’t remember an opposing player kicking a grounder.
Or the closer faltering three times a year, two when he really couldn’t.
We won’t consider when St. Louis won three of four some other time.
Or that they’ll likely do it again.
